Medicaid is a State run health insurance program for those in need. Each state has their own requirements to qualify; however, there is a back door into the Medicaid program regardless of the State you live in. This back door is Social Security's Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program.

If your child qualifies for the SSI program, he or she will automatically be enrolled in Medicaid. Your child’s condition will be evaluated by your State’s Disability Determination Agency, and if approved will be eligible for a monthly check of about $603 and Medicaid insurance.
